President

Tabitha Beaton

My life has been rooted in emergency services, from growing up in a policing family to working in fire services and emergency management since the early 2000s. I wanted to build a company where I could bring together the people I trust the most to provide brilliant, experienced, and innovative advice and solutions to organizations responsible for emergency and emergency management services.

Over the past 20 years, municipal and emergency services leaders have relied on me as a strategic advisor to drive a variety of complex planning projects, develop strategies to address disaster risk, and provide sound counsel on a range of organizational and operational issues. My extensive planning experience has involved capacity and resource building in organizations to better manage emergency events. I specialize in collaborative solutions that bridge the breadth of expectations and perspectives of different stakeholders and creates a common understanding and approach. In addition to having held a command staff role in the response to a range of emergencies in a large municipal emergency operations centre, I have worked extensively on preparedness, mitigation, and recovery from both natural and human-induced disasters.

Advisor, Policing & Public Safety

Andrea Koolick

I am an experienced police leader, life-long student, and contributor to the field of public safety. I have a genuine passion for applying the lessons and principles of policing to the field of emergency management. I bring a unique perspective to emergency and disaster planning and response informed by frontline, investigative, and project management experience. I coordinated the Calgary Police Services' operational response to the COVID-19 pandemic and provided policing support and counsel during the 2023 evacuation of Northwest Territories residents to Calgary.

Throughout my 24 year career in policing, I have been recognized as an accomplished investigator, commander, and public safety innovator. I led an organizational information management strategy requiring extensive collaboration and consultation with all of our public safety partners that intersected with policing. I have been a passionate advocate for victims and their families, and revamped the Calgary Police Service's approach to victim assistance by introducing inclusiveness, diversity, equity, and accessibility elements, including enhanced Diversity Teams and greater integration with Indigenous partners. I also led planning for the Family Assistance Centres to be deployed during mass casualty incidents which has since been used by other jurisdictions in building their own programs. In Spring 2024, I will have achieved my goal of completing my Masters degree in Public Safety from Wilfrid Laurier University.
